Why Wedding Details Make Your Wedding Gallery Shine

Weddings

When you think about your wedding photos, your mind probably jumps straight to the big moments. The walk down the aisle. The first kiss. The first dance that makes everyone tear up.

But the tiny things? They matter just as much.

Those little details you’ve spent months choosing — like your invitation suite, your rings, your perfume, heirloom jewelry, your veil, your shoes, and all the pretty touches that make your day feel like yours — they help tell the whole story. And that’s why detail photos are such a huge part of capturing your wedding beautifully.

To make sure we don’t miss a single thing you love, I always recommend creating a “wedding details box.”

What’s a wedding details box?

Think of it like a treasure chest. Before your wedding day, gather all the small, meaningful items you want photographed and place them in one box or bag. When I arrive, I can grab it, get to work, and make magic without interrupting you or pulling you away from hair and makeup.

What to include:

• Invitation suite

• Rings (all of them!)

• Shoes

• Jewelry

• Perfume or cologne

• Veil or hairpieces

• Any sentimental items (letters, charms, borrowed pieces)

• Vow books

• Your something old, new, borrowed, blue

• Garter, tie, cufflinks, watch

• Florals, if your florist can spare a few loose stems

• Anything else that feels “you”

Why it matters:

Putting everything in one spot makes the morning smoother and way less stressful. You don’t have to dig through bags or answer questions about where your earrings are. And I get to capture every detail beautifully and consistently, using natural light, styling mats, and little touches that elevate your wedding gallery. I also style your details in a less organized, more natural way, so you have both options!

Plus, when you look back on your photos years from now, these details will pull you straight back into how your day felt. The excitement. The calm. The moments before everything began.

Creating a details box is simple, quick, and truly makes a difference in the story your photos tell!
